Morss Family Genealogy and History

Greetings!

This site comprises mainly the genealogies of Robert Dillingham Morss (b. 1889) and his first wife, Marion Winchester Stevens (b. 1888).

Also included are my findings on the Scots-Irish ancestry of my maternal grandparents, Lorenzo Craig (b. 1875) and Nellie Turner (b. 1886).

I started in genealogy in 1994, after reaching my fortieth year and deciding it was high time that I trace the origins of our Morss surname. I knew it was a New England name, having seen dozens of Morsses in the Boston phone book. But I had virtually no knowledge of the family history prior to my grandfather, Robert Dillingham Morss (b. 1889). My father and I are both named after him, so I decided that he would be the starting point of my project.
